ABOUT THE ARTIST

Autumn de Forest is the youngest artist ever chosen to represent The President's Committee on The Arts and Humanities in Washington D.C, Turnaround Arts, alongside celebrities Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Edward Norton, Yo-Yo Ma, Usher, Cameron Diaz, Whoopi Goldberg, and Elton John.  With Turnaround Arts, de Forest travels the globe visiting pilot schools and inspiring students. De Forest was invited to meet and paint with the art students at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas this past February: continuing her mission of using art to heal and pursuing her mission of utilizing self-portraiture to harness the power of creativity.

Autumn exhibits her work globally as a renowned young Artist, and has exhibited at Stone Harbor for several years.  In 2015, she was awarded the International Giuseppe Sciacca Award for Painting and Art, an acknowledgment of a select few young people chosen from around the globe, believed to be changing the world for the better. That November 2015, mid heightened security concerns due to the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris occurring only hours earlier, de Forest was extended a brief yet powerful meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican on the steps of Saint Peter’s Basilica. It was there that the then just 14-year-old de Forest presented the Pope with her grand and intricate artwork transported thousands of miles from her United States painting studio.

She is a true philanthropist, and also has been named one of the ten coolest teens to follow on Instagram by the New York Observer.

Autumn had the honor of being named one of Teen Vogue’s 21 Under 21 Teen Vogue:  2017   21 Under 21, and attended the Teen Vogue Summit in Los Angeles recognizing these carefully-chosen and extraordinary young women.
