RSVP Now For Paws On the Patio!

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

What did you do during pandemic lockdown times? Fearless Restaurants Wine & Beverage Director Michele Gargiulo wrote a book pairing wine and dogs. She researched 57 breeds and paired their personalities with wines. Most of the dogs featured in the book are rescue dogs and a portion of the book proceeds will go to local animal rescues. The book is titled Pairing Paws: Dog Breeds and their Spirit Animals. Within 24 hours of its June release, it reached #1 in Amazon new releases in the categories of Wine, Dog Breeds, Animal and Plant Photography, and Alcoholic Beverages.

When covid shut down the country and furloughed Michele from her job role at the time, she was home with her pup Riesling and 500 bottles of wine. As a female sommelier, one of Michele's goals is to make wine more accessible and fun. “Wine is often taken too seriously and many people are still expecting sommeliers to be older gentlemen who forgot how to smile sometimes in the 80s. To make wine what it is truly all about –fun and happiness, I decided to pair them with the creatures who are amongst the most fun and happy in the world – dogs,” she explained.

Next week on July 19, 2022, you can attend "Paws on the Patio" at White Dog Glen Mills located at The Shoppes at Brinton Lake, 981 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills from 5-7pm, for the launch of Michele's book. Well-behaved pups are welcome for this yappy hour event! Books will be available onsite for purchase and Gargiulo’s own Yorkshire Terrier Riesling will be there to paw-tograph copies! Tickets include a copy of the book, a glass of Penns Woods Winery wine, and small bites.

passion for wine and love for dogs. It’s wonderful that proceeds go to local rescues, and pairing dogs with wines is such a unique and fun idea. I especially love how it makes wine more accessible and less intimidating for everyone.

Speaking of furry friends, for those managing veterinary supplies or care during the pandemic, vetcove customer service was a helpful resource for many professionals in the industry. It's inspiring to see people and businesses finding ways to adapt and thrive despite the challenges. Best of luck to Michele and her adorable pup Riesling for the book launch! 🐾🍷
