Updated: Jul 24, 2020

In July, many Americans celebrate the national holiday of Independence Day – try to remember the ever-dreaded Tax Day – but overlook so many more National Days like International Kissing Day (July 6), French Fry Day (July 13) and Pet Fire Safety Day (July 15).

Next month, on Aug. 4, check the calendar for another one to look forward to – National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, when Philly’s Famous 4th Street Cookie Co. will be offering free cookies for two weeks to Philadelphians and anyone who wants to make the trek to Reading Terminal Market or their East Falls location. Proceeds from each purchase will benefits Philly’s Ronald McDonald House, and discounts will be offered to celebrate the company’s most iconic treat.

“In past years, National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day has been such a day of fun and celebration – things that we need could use more now than ever,” said Tina Phillips, co-owner of The Famous 4th Street Cookie Company.

“This year, with our retail operations substantially limited, we decided to double down on online deals and try to make an even bigger impact.”

From July 27 to Aug. 7, The Famous 4th Street Cookie Company will offer one free box of six chocolate chip cookies with every online purchase of $25 or more.

For customers in the city, enjoy $1 Famous Chocolate Chip cookies at the Reading Terminal Market and Ridge Avenue Bakery locations on Aug. 3 and 4, with local delivery of dollar cookies available through UberEats, Grubhub and Mercato.

Additionally, tomorrow, July 22, for National Hot Dog Day, Cynch Propane Tank company will be offering home deliveries to your backyard grill so that folks in Philly and the Delaware Valley can enjoy frankfurters like they would at the ballpark.
