It's a new year, and one of Cape May's longest family owned and operated businesses just acquired new owners!
The Montreal Beach Resort and Harry's Ocean Bar and Grille have been a staple in this jersey shore community for over 56 years, and has recently been purchased by Madison Resorts - a locally owned hospitality company headed by property operations veteran Dan Alicea, who has led the revitalization of two historic resorts on the east coast.
According to the press release, Dan's family has life-long ties to Cape May, and they understand the importance of preserving history and tradition for the Resort that was founded back in 1966.
“My wife was born and raised in Cape May County, now operating a piece of its history is a childhood dream coming true for both of us. We are humbled and honored to the Hirsch family for putting their trust in Madison Resorts, we are committed to delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring we hold the community first in our heart.” - Dan Alicea, Founder Madison Resorts
The property will see modest changes, while retaining its identity, and this will include fully upgraded hotel rooms and lobby.
For local foodies, Harry's will still offer all the signature dishes and drinks the community has come to love. but don't worry, there will be additional dishes and drinks to compliment the long-time crowd favorites - but that will be in the near future.
The new owners ensure us that they will maintain and preserve the charm, history, staff and signature offerings as they put community first.
