Manco & Manco Pizza, one of the most beloved places to eat at the Jersey Shore, has closed all boardwalk locations through Saturday after three employees tested positive for COVID-19.
The announcement comes just a day after the establishment announced they would be closing their doors until Wednesday for extensive cleaning procedures.
The establishment says they will use the week to test all employees and will only allow them to return to work if they test negative.
"One of the three employees is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and the other two are asymptomatic," said Manco and Manco management.
The news spread through Ocean City fairly quickly as several locals and visitors took to social media after realizing just how recently they may have visited for a pie on the boardwalk.
The owners ensure that the three positive employees are quarantining for 14 days and all other employees that may have been in contact with them have been notified.
When the pizzeria reopens on Saturday, pizza slice sales will temporarily be paused and only whole pies will be available to limit employee contact with food.
Also, safety seals will be added to every pizza box to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Manco and Manco's leadership says that while they didn't have to initially close their doors on Tuesday they felt it was the right thing to do. They say they're using the time to revisit and take extra precautions.
