Former White House Pastry Chef and the Executive Pastry Chef at Hard Rock Atlantic City, Thaddeus R. Dubois, will end the summer teaching new outdoor dessert classes. Pair that with a blind wine tasting with J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, and it's a winning combination!

Atlantic City, N.J. (Aug. 11, 2020) – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will end the summer on a sweet note with new outdoor dessert classes and blind wine tastings on the exclusive DAER Deck Lounge, overlooking the ocean and world-famous Atlantic City Boardwalk creating a picturesque backdrop for these one-of-a-kind classes.
Taught by former White House Pastry Chef who is now Hard Rock Atlantic City’s Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus R. DuBois’s classes will be held on the below dates.
Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 2 p.m.
Summer Fruits in a Tart ($35 per person; register online here)
Guests will learn all the steps in creating a picture-perfect fruit tart including how to make and roll out sugar dough and pastry cream, and the skills to artfully arrange fresh fruit on the finished product. Guests will enjoy an eight-inch Fruit Tart with Raspberry Coulis at the end of the class.
Saturday, Aug. 22 from noon to 2 p.m.
Summer Heat Nitro Ice Cream ($35 per person; register online here)
Discover the science and skills behind liquid nitrogen ice cream including making an ice cream base from scratch and instantly freezing it with liquid nitrogen. Guests will finish the class with fresh ice cream made tableside.
Saturday, Aug. 29 from noon to 2 p.m.
An Afternoon with My English Auntie ($35 per person; register online here)
Enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea while rolling and cutting traditional tea biscuits and creating English lemon curd tea sandwiches. This international class will include service of tea sandwiches with berries.
For those looking to hit the right note, Blind Wine Tastings will kick off Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5 to 6 p.m. with J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines. During the tasting guests will taste six different varietals while trying to identify the type of wine. Guests who select the correct varietal will receive a small prize. Additional tastings from different wineries will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, Thursday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 10. Wine tastings are $25 per person with registration available here.
