DePaul's Table Opens on the Main Line as Dining Out Makes a Comeback

Last week I attended the grand opening of DePaul's Table in Ardmore. The restaurant was packed and everyone was thoroughly enjoying being out for an evening of incredible food and drink at what will undoubtedly be a go-to on the main line. Set in the former home of The Bercy, DePaul’s specializes in Italian flavors, the finest cuts of steak, big chops, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, big salads, savory flatbreads and fresh made desserts. Restaurant veteran Anthony DePaul formerly worked with The Chophouse, Marc Forgione’s American Cut Steakhouse and Borgata. In the kitchen, DePaul has tapped New Jersey-native Executive Chef Jose Galicia (The Chophouse).

At DePaul's Table look for a brighter, lighter and fresher take on Center City classic steakhouses. My favorite dish was the pan-seared salmon with Kennett Square mushroom risotto and blistered cherry tomatoes (shown below). For cocktails, a highlight is the Cedar Planked Smoked Old Fashioned, which honors the spirit of the old school steakhouse with smoke and a giant round cube done table side.

While the pandemic may have changed the state of dining, DePaul and team look to bring back all the things we have missed this last year about an exceptional dining experience. The warmness and attention to detail of the staff was noteworthy. I can see coming here for a girls night, date night, special event and more. Says DePaul, "I want DePaul’s Table to be a place where our guests can feel at home and share their own memories and experiences together. I wanted to create a place I would be proud of and that I could see my own family enjoying.. . Where I think I elevate the experience is through developing relationships with my guests. I want to know their favorite dishes, wines, table preferences, birthdays, kids' names. I want them to not only have my cell phone number but to use it to let me create the perfect experience for them. I want guests to know if it's a busy weekend night they can text me. I will take care of them. That's the culture I will create at DePaul’s Table.”

Currently DePaul's offerings include indoor and outdoor dining, bar service, social hour, take-out, cocktails to go, special events, private events and catering. Down the road, look for an expansion of hours, lunch service, brunch service and a late night menu. Three spaces are available for private dining and parties as well. DePaul’s Table will also offer a kids menu with pasta, chicken fingers, and other family friendly selections. DePaul said, “Downtown Ardmore has seen such an amazing dining revival over the last few years. There is such an amazing community and I wanted to be a part of that energy. The timing couldn’t have worked out better as I want to meet and partner with my neighboring restaurants and the Ardmore Initiative. I want to have all hands on deck to help revitalize the Main Line restaurant scene after the shut-down and economic challenges of the last year. I also see this as an opportunity to bring something to Ardmore that doesn’t currently exist. DePaul’s Table aims to continue to elevate and raise up the burgeoning restaurant scene, and I am so grateful and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of great things to come here.”
